The management of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has paid a courtesy visit to Wisconsin International University College’s Kumasi campus to review progress and explore opportunities for strengthening their affiliation.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, led the delegation, accompanied by the Registrar, Mr. Benjamin Boampong Owusu; the Assistant Registrar at the Affiliations Office, Mr. Gibridu Oppong; and the Assistant Registrar in charge of Digital Communications, Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Debrah.
As part of the visit, the KNUST team held a meeting with Wisconsin management and staff, where discussions focused on institutional growth, quality assurance, and strategies to enhance the affiliation.
Prof. Mrs. Dickson praised Wisconsin’s progress and reaffirmed KNUST’s commitment to supporting its affiliated institutions.
“We are very happy about the remarkable progress you are making. Our assurance is to support you so you keep to best practices. The nation has entrusted us with the future of its youth, and we have no choice but to nurture them and give them back to society,” she said.
She added: “We are here to check in on you and see how we can support you. The culture of quality improvement must always drive what we do, so that everywhere our certificate is hoisted, KNUST’s standards are evident.”
Mr. Mamadou Lamine Diedhiou, Dean of the Business School and Head of the Quality Assurance and Institutional Renewal Unit (QAIRU), speaking on behalf of the Head of Campus, pledged to expand more programmes under the KNUST affiliation stream and called for deeper collaboration in research.
“We see the benefit of this affiliation, and it is not just about proximity. We want to keep strengthening this partnership,” Mr. Diedhiou said.
He again requested that KNUST lecturers support teaching at the Kumasi campus to help boost student enrolment.
The KNUST delegation also toured campus facilities, including the library, multipurpose lecture hall, Skills lab for School of Nursing and Midwifery and ongoing hostel projects.
